About Emily Bryant

I'm an artist, UX and visual designer.

I live in Manhattan with my husband and two cats.

I'm a self-taught artist. I will draw anything if I'm given the opportunity, but I especially love making fantasy, horror, surreal and psychedelic art. My work is heavily inspired by nature, punk and metal music, comics from all over the world, horror movies, folklore and fantasy literature.

I have a Bachelor's degree in journalism and an Associate of Science in digital media, with a concentration in graphic design.
In my spare time I play video games, knit, watch scary movies and do some creative writing.

My favorite visual artists are Mœbius, Francisco de Goya, Edward Hopper, Remedios Varo, Bill Watterson, Yoshitaka Amano, Frida Kahlo, Edward Gorey, Takato Yamamoto, Zdzisław Beksiński, Ralph Steadman and Otto Dix.

You may notice that my signature doesn't match my initials. I use Erm as my signature, because it's a family nickname and I began signing my work that way back when I was in high school. It just stuck.

Ermdracula is a username I've used in different spaces online for more than a decade now. As I began selling prints and stickers, when I was at a loss for what to call my Etsy shop, I chose the path of least resistance and just went with ol' reliable as the name of the shop.
